Mom Warns Others After Reviewing An Old Photo And Spotting A Venomous Snake Hidden In Plain Site
A mother took a picture of her two children but when reviewing it, her blood ran cold. She saw one of the world’s most venomous snakes lurking behind her unsuspecting children.
At first, she thought that it was just a picture of her two children walking hand in hand in nature. Alanna then saw the deadly eastern brown snake that was only inches away from the foot of her young son.
She was astonished that the children were only inches away from what could’ve been a life-threatening attack. It all happened on a day that was just like any other in the Australian town of Eskdale in Northeast Victoria.

There is only one other snake in the world that is more venomous than the Eastern Brown snake, the inland taipan, which you will also find in Australia. When bitten, a victim may die in minutes of cardiac arrest. The Eastern Brown snake accounts for 41% of snake deaths in all of Australia.
Barry Goldsmith is a snake catcher who shared the picture after Alanna’s father Mark shared it with him.
“Mark sent me this pic his daughter Alanna took of her kids as they skipped down a track on his property on the Mitta Mitta River. No one saw the large eastern brown snake until they looked at the pics later. The snake saw them coming and watched as they unknowingly skipped past.”
“Really goes to show snakes are not aggressive and just need respect. Pretty cool huh. Thank you, Mark, for sending me the pic and for your understanding and compassion for the animals that we share our beautiful country with. Zoom in to the ground on the right of the kids. Please be careful, take care this summer, and be nice to snakes.”
