This Baby Rhino’s Walk Will Give You A Big Smile After Hearing His Heartbreaking Story

Brought to Africa’s Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre at only a month old, a young bull rhino named Matimba had lost his mother to poachers like many, many others of his kind across the country. He was found close to his mother’s lifeless body, defenseless, hungry, and scared.

The young rhino was immediately transported to the centre where staff went to work on settling the orphan into his new home. And thanks to the loving care of the staff, he managed to fit in just fine and start a new life of rehabilitation.

Thanks to facilities like the Hoedspruit Endangered Species center, animals like Matimba can often have a second chance at life after even the most traumatic experiences, often caused by horrible human beings.

Check out the video below and watch as Matimba bravely takes a walk with one of the centre’s staff.

Go, Matimba, go!
