John Cena Donated $500k To First Responders Fighting The California Wildfires

John Cena is known for doing his fair share of charitable work. And now, the 42-year-old actor is hoping to help California’s first responders as they battle the vicious wildfires that are creating havoc on the state.

Cena announced on Monday through Twitter, that since his upcoming film “Playing with Fire” “showcases a group of people I believe are heroes: First responders,” then it’s only right he step up during such a horrible time.

In the film, Cena will play a firefighter, and on social media, Cena shared a sincere video of himself explaining how he would love to help the cause – and is hopeful that Paramount Pictures will get involved as well.

As of Monday morning, thousands of residents in the Los Angeles area had to evacuate after the fire started.

Since stating at around 1:30 am local time, The Getty Fire had scorched more than 500 acres adjacent to the 405 Freeway near the Getty Center, as Mayor Eric Garcetti stated during a press conference.

Since then, the Los Angeles Fire Department has issued mandatory evacuations on more than 10,000 homes and buildings.

Los Angeles Fire Department Chief, Ralph Terrazas, also addressed the press conference, stating that the city was in a “dangerous season,” referring to several other fires in recent times like the Saddleridge Fire and the Palisades Fire.
