The Best Pictures Of 2017’s First And Only Supermoon
On Sunday, December 3rd, the first and only supermoon was visible across almost the entire world at different points during the night.
The supermoon was given its name by astrologer Richard Nolle, because it is a full moon that appears incredibly large to the human eye due to it being the closest it can possibly be to the Earth during its orbit.
“The supermoons are a great opportunity for people to start looking at the moon, not just that once but every chance they have,” Petro said.
Everyone had to wait until the very last month of 2017 to see this incredible event, but it was well worth the wait.
Luckily for everyone who missed it this year, another supermoon is already set to occur on the very first day of 2018, and again on January 31st.
But as you wait for the next one, check out some of the best pictures people managed to snap from around the world below!
